Gary Indiana native, Freddie Gibbs, has been making his mark on the mixtape game since he came on the scene. His rough, hardcore style strays away from the decidedly main-stream sound the rap culture has been embodying as of late. Given his raw nature, Gangster Gibbs has paired with artists like Young Jeezy  and Bun B on tracks in the past. His latest offering does not disappoint in the features department either. Freddie gets some help from Curren$y, Jadakiss, Dom Kennedy and Jay Rock among others on Baby Face Killa.

With every project, Freddie has been maturing as an artist and this tape is no exception. His lyrics are becoming more poignant and he is developing into a more complete rapper. Still, as he grows in the rap game, Gibbs doesn’t stray from his gritty drug-dealing roots. His verses are authentic and believable, and he continues to embody a never back down approach. Highlights from Baby Face Killa include the Kirko Bangz assisted track entitled “Bout It, Bout It” and “Money Clothes Hoes” (above). Overall, the tape is definitely worth copping and is a perfect soundtrack for cruising in your vehicle.
