Curren$y – Verde Terrace
In 2002, Curren$y signed to Master P’s No Limit Records then in 2004 to Cash Money Records and Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment. He then independently released eight solo tapes from 2007 to 2008 and later worked with former Roc-A-Fella co-founder Damon Dash to release his 2010 albums, Pilot Talk and Pilot Talk II. Although Curren$y has worked with out a co-sign for years its great that this Hiphop loving MC partnered up with DJ Drama for Verde Terrace, which he released Tuesday (August 23).
Curren$y rhymes over mix of his original material and even over other artist’s instrumentals. OutKast’s “Elevators” gets transformed in to “Smoke Sum’n,” and Jay-Z’s “Stick 2 the Script” is crafted in to “Ways to Kill Em.” Verde Terrace is spectacular and refreshing, it’s old school Hiphop sounds and lyrical rhymes make this 14 track, mix-tape a must have.
My favorite track: “Pininfarina” & sounds best on stereo with some bass.
This is an official free release from Curren$y.
